Candles
As sources of light, candles are often symbols of spiritual enlightenment and wisdom. In many pagan rituals there will be one or more candles set on the altar, and the persons calling the quarters will generally bear candles which are lit at the opening of the ritual and extinguished at its end. Scented candles may also be used for cleansing rituals or for meditation.
Candles can be made from a variety of substances, although the most common are beeswax and paraffin (petroleum-based). Some traditions assign no particular significance to the substance from which candles are made, while other traditions consider it to be of utmost importance. Similarly, some traditions call for candles of colors which are very difficult to find in regular stores.
Mini Spell and Ritual Candles
These tiny tapers are perfect for rituals that involve burning them all the way to nothing. They are also good for small altars when votives or tea lights would be too squat. You can buy individual colors to mix and match, creating a set appropriate for the particular working you are about to undertake.
Set of 10 Spell Candles
A set of ten mini-tapers with an instruction booklet on the significance of the colors and how they can be used in pagan ritual. A set such as this is particularly convenient for a travel kit of ritual items, since they take up relatively little space.
